- Total 350 vacancies are there, 200 for Probationary Engineer (Electronics) and 150 for Probationary Engineer (Mechanical). Its a good chance if you are a fresh engineer and want a job in a Navaratna PSU under Ministry of Defence.
- Pay scale is Rs. 40,000-3%-1,40,000 (E-II Grade) and CTC is approx. 13 lacs. DA, HRA, Conveyance Allowance, Performance Related Pay and Medical Reimbursement will also be given.
- You need B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (4 Years) Engineering in Electronics or Mechanical. General / OBC (NCL) / EWS need First class and SC / ST / PwBD can apply with Pass class. Other equivalent disciplines and dual specializations will not be considered.
- Upper age limit is 25 years as on 1 October 2026. Relaxation is 5 years for SC / ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 10 years for PwBD.
- Application fee is Rs. 1180 (with GST) for General, OBC (NCL) and EWS. SC / ST / PwBD / ESM do not have to pay any fee. Fee is not refundable at all.
- Selection is by Computer Based Test (85 marks) and then Interview (15 marks). No written exam after that, so CBT is the main thing here.
- After selection you have to do 6 months training and sign a Service Agreement for 2 years. If you break it you have to pay Rs. 2,00,000.

- Go to the official website of BEL and open the “Careers” section.
- Read the full notification once
- Register with your personal and contact details, verify the OTPs sent on mobile and e-mail. You will get User ID and password.
- Login, fill the application, upload photo and signature and check everything in “Preview”. After submit you can not edit.
- Pay the fee online through SBI e-Pay Lite (General / OBC (NCL) / EWS only) and take a printout of the form.

BEL Probationary Engineer Recruitment 2026 | Important Instructions
- Please read the official notification fully once, then only fill the form.
- Only Indian Nationals can apply. Application is online only. Hard copy of application or any documents should not be sent to BEL office.
- Dont keep it for the last day. Website can get slow near closing date and BEL will not be responsible for last minute rush.
- Pay the fee only after you are sure that you are eligible. Fee once paid will not be refunded in any case. Non-receipt of fee for UR, EWS and OBC (NCL) will lead to rejection of application.
- Category once filled in the online form will not be changed. All details in the form are final and after submit you can not edit anything.
- Do not make more than one application for a post. If you make multiple applications, only the one with higher Application Sequence Number will be considered and fee of one will not be adjusted in another.
- Mere registration on portal does not mean you are eligible. You have to show valid original documents at the time of document verification.
- If your specialization in the degree certificate does not match with the branch in your application, you will not be considered for interview.
- OBC candidates who belong to “creamy layer” will have to apply as Unreserved category.
- Candidates with colour blindness are not suitable for the post of Probationary Engineer in Electronics and Mechanical, as per medical standards of the company.
- Dependents / Children of BEL employees have to apply as external candidates only. Trainee / Project / Fixed Tenure Engineers of BEL also apply as external candidates and inform their Unit / SBU HR before interview.
- Choose 5 test centres nearest to you from Annexure-A. No change in test centre / city / state is allowed and travel cost for CBT will not be given. Outstation candidates shortlisted for interview get AC Chair Car or III Tier AC train fare.
- Call letter will not be sent by e-mail or post. You have to download it from the BEL website with your login.
- Any canvassing directly or indirectly will lead to disqualification. Wrong information or hiding facts can lead to cancellation of candidature and termination even after selection.
- BEL does not ask for any money other than the application fee. Dont believe anyone who demands payment for a job in BEL, they are fraudsters.
