No. 07/2026 for the Assistant Teacher (Graduate Pay Scale), also known as TGT, Selection Exam 2026 in Aided Non-Government Schools of Secondary Education Department, Uttar Pradesh. There are 17,735 vacancies in total, 16,193 in boys schools and 1,542 in girls schools, and these can increase or decrease. • Total 17,735 vacancies are there for Assistant Teacher (TGT) in 17 subjects, 16,193 in boys schools and 1,542 in girls schools. Biggest are Hindi (2,791), Science (2,493), Social Science (2,482), English (2,517) and Mathematics (2,349). Its a big chance for B.Ed + TET candidates in UP.
• There are reservations for SC, ST, OBC and EWS in this recruitment. Category wise vacancy for each subject is given in the tables below.
• Qualification is Graduation with at least 50% marks (or Post Graduation with at least 45%) in the related subject, plus B.Ed, plus a valid Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for class 6 to 8. For Physical Education you need B.P.Ed or B.P.E. instead of B.Ed.
• TET certificate must be valid at least till 30 June 2027. Just being in the selection list does not give you a right to appointment.
• Age limit is minimum 21 years and maximum 62 years as on 1 July 2026. Pay is Level-7 (Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400).
• Fee is Rs. 1,000 for General / OBC / EWS, Rs. 500 for SC / ST and Rs. 300 for Divyang. It is non-refundable.
• Selection is only by one written exam of 360 marks (120 MCQs, 2 hours). 30 questions are General Knowledge and 90 are from your subject. There is negative marking of 1 mark. Exam will be on 23 and 24 December 2026.
• Women candidates can apply for both boys and girls schools but have to choose only one (boys or girls) in the form. Only 1 application is valid for each subject and class, if you submit more than one then the last one is accepted.

For all the subjects you also need B.Ed degree recognized by NCTE and you should have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for upper primary level (class 6 to 8) conducted by UP Government or Government of India. The TET certificate should be valid till 30 June 2027.

• Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and EWS is given subject wise and class wise (boys / girls) as in the tables above. Horizontal reservation is as per rules. Benefit of reservation is only for the original residents of Uttar Pradesh, and candidates of other states are treated as General category.
• If you belong to more than one reserved category, only one concession, whichever is more beneficial, will be given. For women candidates only the caste certificate issued from the father side is valid.
• EWS certificate should be of the financial year before the year of application and in the format of Appendix-3. 10% vacancies are for EWS under the UP Public Services (Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections) Act, 2020.
• Secondary Education Directorate has marked the Assistant Teacher post for Divyang candidates of some sub-categories only (O.A., O.L., B, B.A., L.V., D, H.H., L.C., D.W., A.A.V., A.S.D., S.L.D., I.D., M.I., B.L., B.L.A., B.H. and M.D.Y.). Check that your disability is in this list.
• Divyang candidates can compete for unreserved vacancies. You must give the disability certificate in the format of Appendix-5.
• Scribe facility is given as per Government orders dated 4 December 2019 and 8 September 2022. You have to bring your own scribe and register in the Commission office at least one week before the exam. Extra time of 20 minutes per hour is given.

1. Go to the official website of the Commission, www.upessc.up.gov.in, and open the advertisement 07/2026 for Assistant Teacher (Graduate Pay Scale).
2. Read the full notification once, and also see the User Manual and Tutorial Videos given on the website.
3. Do One Time Registration (OTR) first. It is compulsory, without OTR you cannot apply.
4. Fill the registration and application form in English only. Name, date of birth etc. should be same as in High School certificate. Choose your subject and boys or girls class carefully.
5. Upload your passport size photo and signature on white background (JPG / JPEG, 10 KB to 100 KB), and certificates / documents in PDF (20 KB to 200 KB).
6. Pay the application fee online by Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. Payment is valid only after confirmation from the bank, so keep the receipt. Application without fee is not valid.
7. Submit the form. After final submit no change in category, sub-category, date of birth, gender etc. is allowed, but you will get one window to correct mistakes till 26 November 2026.
8. Take 3 printouts of the online application and keep them safe. 2 copies are needed at the time of document verification, with 2 separate sets of documents.

• Affidavit in the format of Appendix-6 (at the time of verification), and an affidavit about any court case pending or punishment
• Character certificate of the last institution and character certificates from 2 respectable persons
• Active email ID and mobile number, because admit card and all messages will come on them

• Please read the official notification fully once, then only fill the form.
• Online application is the only way. Application sent in any other way is not accepted, and OTR is compulsory before you apply.
• Dont keep it for the last day. Fill the form early, because the fee is also to be paid by 23 November 2026.
• The information you fill is final. After final submit, change in category, sub-category, date of birth, gender etc. is not allowed. You will get a correction window only for mistakes, till 26 November 2026, and the fee is not refunded.
• Only one application is valid for each subject and class (boys or girls). If you submit more than one, the last one is accepted and others are cancelled.
• The Commission does not give any separate advice about your eligibility. If you apply without the required qualification, you will be responsible and your candidature will be cancelled.
• Upload a clear photo and signature of the given size. If not, or if the declaration is not accepted, your application will be rejected.
• If any false information is found at any stage, your candidature will be cancelled and you can be debarred from future exams.
• Male candidates cannot be appointed in girls schools (except visually impaired candidates for Music). Married candidates with more than one living spouse are not eligible, unless the Governor gives relaxation.
• You must clearly mention if any court case is pending against you or if you were punished by a court. Your health should be fine, and a medical fitness certificate from a Government hospital doctor is needed before final selection.
• Exam centres will be at district headquarters. District name is told 10 days before the exam, and centre details are given in the admit card 3 days before. If you give the exam at a different centre or subject, your answer sheet will not be checked.
• Admit card is downloaded from the website using registration number / mobile number and date of birth. Carry black ball point pen. Only black ball point pen is allowed for the OMR sheet, and no other pen, whitener, eraser or blade can be used on it.
• No travel allowance (TA/DA) is paid for the exam or document verification.
• Copying, indiscipline or any wrong act in the exam hall can lead to cancellation and debarment from future exams.
