Tips for the Exam

  • There is negative marking of 0.25 in Paper A, so dont try to guess blindly but in Constable (Communication) special paper one wrong answer will costs 0.75 and a right one gives 3 marks so I advice attempt only when you are at least 70% sure.
  • Paper A is only 100 marks but it is common for everyone and most posts decides the merit. A difference of 2 or 3 marks can change your rank, so even Odia grammar questions matter.
  • Dont leave Odia for the last, grammar topics like sandhi, samasa, krudanta and taddhita look small but they are easy marks if you have read once properly.
  • The computer topics in the syllabus are basic. If you use a smartphone daily you can finish this part in a few days.
  • Geography and history of Odisha is written separately in the GK syllabus so read your state topics first because nobody outside Odisha can match you there.
  • Start PET practice now, dont wait for the result. Men have to run 1.6 km in 7 minutes and women in 9 minutes and only 7 times the vacancies are called, so the call will come fast.
  • If you want the driving bonus 3 marks for LMV, 5 for HMV check that your licence is valid before the date of advertisement, because the notification counts the last 6 months for LMV and 1 year for HMV in driver posts.
